Happy Valentines Day!

Friday, February 11, 2011

This week is Congenital Heart Awareness Week. The support group I belong to were able to get over 500 cupcakes from Pillsbury donated. All we needed was someone to frost them and decorate them and pass them out...that's where I came in. As of today I have frosted and decorated over 550. I have 100 more to do tomorrow and then start the orders for Valentines Day.
This is why I do it.....for little peeps like this.
And this...this could quite possibly be the worlds most perfect heart cupcake.
And it is calling your name....shhhh....can you hear it? Its begging to be devoured....

Whiskey drinkin', fly fishin, kind of guy....

Sunday, May 2, 2010

My friend Carrie asked me to make her husband some cupcakes for his birthday. She described him as a whiskey drinkin', fly fishin', hunting, Red Sox lovin' kind of guy. I ordered Red Sox baseball picks, but when they arrived, they looked like my two year old painted them, so I went with this theme instead.

A frustrated fisherman, with all his equipment floating in the water.....

Oh, and did I mention they are Chocolate Whiskey Cupcakes?
The blue frosted ones were kid friendly, but the chocolate....they were adults only.

I have an order for Chocolate Scotch cupcakes next weekend.....anyone else?

I made these for Elmo and Oscar to eat later.
Only.....they were eaten at the birthday party so fast I couldn't save them.

Big Bird went to the party too...but he was not my favorite and I will be perfecting him in the near future.
Normally I reserve this blog just for cupcakes that I am selling, but this party was special.
So here is a picture of my "HEART" boy.

To FILL or not to FILL?
Filling the cupcake adds more flavor and moistness to the cupcake itself.

Sometimes I would advise NOT to fill them, and other times I would advise chocolate or vanilla pudding, strawberry preserves, raspberry preserves, apricot, whip crème and sometimes cream cheese.

For those of you who are not a fan of frosting...this may be your thing! No need for frosting!

This usually equates to .25 cents per cupcake.

Order two dozen and only fill half!

We are CraZy like that!

Ahhhh...Red Velvet. Classy, sexy, popular and delicious.
Red Velvet Milk Chocolate cake with Milk Chocolate Frosting garnished with candy hearts and chocolate sprinkles.
I have also made these for my aunts 60th birthday in which I frosted them with red frosting and added purple hats to the top. (For the "Red Hat Club")
The top Red Velvet I made for my heart sister. I added another smaller heart shaped cake on top of the creamy milk chocolate frosting. I can make them several different ways..we just need to discuss what you are using them for.
Red Velvet really is The Sweetest Thing.
